Le due squadre indiane vincitrici delle Olimpiadi festeggiano con l'ex Campione del mondo Viswanatan Anand

Olimpiadi degli scacchi: l'India vince entrambi i tornei. La Nazionale Open chiude al 43mo posto, la Nazionale Femminile al 34mo

Si sono chiuse il 22 settembre le Olimpiadi di Budapest, le 45me della storia. A vincere, per la prima volta, è stata l'India, che ha trionfato in entrambi i tornei: nell'Open ha superato gli Stati Uniti e i Campioni uscenti dell'Uzbekistan, nel Femminile ha prevalso sul Kazakistan e ancora sugli Stati Uniti.

L'Italia Open è arrivata 43ma, dopo un percorso impreziosito dalle vittorie contro l'Olanda e il pareggio contro l'Azerbaijan. Alla fine i punti ottenuti sono stati 13 (6 vittorie, un pareggio, 4 sconfitte). 14 punti invece per la Nazionale Femminile (6 vittorie, 2 pareggi e 3 sconfitte), che può vantare anch'essa, come risultato di prestigio, un pareggio contro l'Azerbaijan. Alla fine si è classificata 34ma, un esito, come quella della squadra Open, fortemente compromesso dal cattivo abbinamento dell'ultimo turno, che ci ha visto lottare (e perdere) contro due Nazionali fortissime, Norvegia e Bulgaria.

Tra i singoli, eccellente prestazione di Lorenzo Lodici, che ha battuto Anish Giri e Peter Leko, e dell'esordiente Giulia Sala, che ha totalizzato 4,5 punti su 7
